Age: 17
Location: Burleson, Texas
Job description: N/A
Favorite OTF chatroom: Ten Forward
Department: Communications -- Tribune
Awards: Outstanding Citizenship Award August, 2001
Habits: Bad or good? *laugh* I bite my nails, eat too much, walk with "pigeon-feet" at times, etc.
Hobbies: The Internet, Star Trek, music, Outpost 10F, writing a fair bit, and keeping to myself.
Pets: Two cats: Fuzz Ball and "Little Kitty"
Phobias: bugs that fly around and have big, pointy things on their tails.
What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done?
Why embarass myself further by telling you? :P I've done my fair share of idiotic things. I'm sure a few avid readers know.
If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be and why?
I'm perfectly fine being myself. Being someone else would only heighten my own desire to be who I am.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be and why?
My weight is terrible. I'm far too fat for both my age and for my height.
If you were to be stranded on a tropical deserted island and could bring 3 things (or people) with you what (or who) would they be?
All I would need is the woman I love. We can provide anything else for ourselves.
Outpost History and Opinions
How long have you been a member of the Outpost?
I registered sometime in July of 1999, but I started coming here full time around November of that same year.
How did you find out about it?
Diane Dragonsayer, a good friend of mine from a simm, showed the place to me. Lieutenant Q (Norbert) showed me a few things later on, and helped to get me aquainted with the place. Not sure if I should hit them both, or give each a big hug.
What was your first impression of the Outpost?
I thought it was incredibly immature in how it looked. Everything was so complicated when I figured it need not be. I hated the avatars, and I didn't really like the feel of the place.
What persuaded you to keep chatting at the Outpost?
Diane convinced me to go back in November, and I did. I don't dare argue with her.
How much time do you spend chatting?
Depends on my mood, and sadly, who is in there. Sometimes I'll spend upwards of eight hours in a day sitting around chatting, while sometimes I'll go a couple of days without popping in for more than twenty minutes at a time. I do visit at least once every day unless my schedule prevents it.
Do you think having departments is a good idea? Why or why not?
Having departments is a great idea. It not only allows for the ease of movement in projects, but also allows the head of each department to lead their own group under one purpose instead of leading many different projects at one time.
Do you participate in monthly contests for the Guilds? If yes, how often?
Oh, I do a bit here and there. I've sent in two 'Honorable Mention' poems, one winning poem, about two dozen reviews for the Library, and in early June I sent in a work of nonfiction to the Writers' Guild.
What is your opinion on the Plan of the Future?
I think it's a good idea in so far as updating the site and making it easier to operate, but I have had serious doubts about the way it has been implemented so far. I would like, ideally, for all of this to be kept a complete secret until a week before it's unvieled. With the Blue Lady running around...it's been frustrating.
Despite that, I do think that our leaders have done a good job thus far, and should continue to strive further so long as they don't become careless and forget the real reason we do this.
What do you think of the changes being made to the community (Creation of a new department, merging of departments, general organization, etc.)?
It's great, really! When R&D merged with Engineering, I was a little skeptical, but it has turned out to be an amicable relationship. I do hope that these mergers, and reorganizations help us.
If you could open another chat room in the Outpost, what theme would you choose?
I'd open an 'Outpost' chat room that has no one-sided design geared towards a certain genre. You would simply have the option to use avatars from any genre, and the options to customize it. Don't worry, I won't go into more detail than that.
Outpost future
If you could play a practical joke on Admiral Andrew Maxwell, what would it be?
If I were to play a prank on Andrew, it would be to go to his house, break in, and steal all of his computer stuff, including 'the' server. In that way, he'd think that all was lost! It would be hilarious, well, maybe not.
If you could have the Admiral's command code and access to all the pages for a day, what would you do?
N/A
If you were given access to the Admiral's handbag for a day, what would you do?
Vaporize it! *veg*
Who should be the next Outpost Admiral and why?
If I were to comment on that, I might end up offending a few of my friends in high places. Nope, I can't do that. *grins*
What do you think is an acceptable bribe to offer for the next Admiral's position?
Bribe or threat? I'd kidnap ol' Andrew and bring him to my union and threaten to keep him here until he complies.
Are the Admiralty really Sith Lords in disguise? (Remember, there are always two of them!)
Nah. Andrew and Terrence are harmless in the real world. Remember, they're real people like you and me. Being an admiral online makes them no different at all.
If there were mutiny in the Outpost, who would you follow?
Depends on who were to lead the mutiny. If Andrew looked to be a better candidate than the opponent, then I'd follow him. Otherwise, I'd just have to wait to see what happens. Not a way in hell I'm going with Section 5, though.
Is Babel really a Time Lord?
If Jeremy was a time lord, he'd come to my union in August. No, he's not a time lord. He's just a good guy with whom I will follow down the trodden path anywhere it leads. In other words, he's a great guy. :P
Who is the true Boss Kitty: RDMG or KittyKat?
They're both softies. *grin*
What colour robes suit Darth Damos best?
Pink with some purple fringe on the edges, and a big green collar? I wouldn't have a clue even if it hit me in the head.
What is a Teekador?
Why, that's a Sus, also known as TeeKay, Tail-Kinker, Cutie, and other names which I won't list here! :P
What does C.T. stand for?
Crazy Texan? Pshaw. He needs to change his handle. Everyone knows that I am 'the' craziest Texan around.
What does J.J. stand for?
Well, considering this new peep is running around named Jadzia Jones, I'm not too sure anymore. So far as I know, JJ is *PeeVee voice* SeeTee's *end PeeVee voice* wife, but those initials could stand for something else entirely.
Final say
Do you have any further comments on Outpost 10F or this interview?
I miss the times when the interviews were done by a person and not by a form. It's much more 'truthful' when you have someone there to tell these things to.
The Outpost, on the other hand, is a good place to come. I think things have slowed down a bit in recent months, but I do strongly believe in the institution as a whole, and I will see it through, despite any misgivings others have about me.
I've been around for a long time, and I've seen a lot of things. If you want to enjoy this place, you need not worry about rank. All you need to worry about, and I'm serious about this, is having fun, and making other people know who you are in the most genuine fashion you can.
