Communications reportCommander KittyKat "I think that one of the biggest changes for Communications will be in its perspective. In my opinion it (OTF) is going to become much more community focused. Not that it isn't already, but the changes mean that nearly all the projects/teams are solely for the benefit of OTF members. This will happen as the Public Relations Team as it stands currently will be disolved. Promoting OTF will be the job of the new marketing division which plans to do so on a much larger and grander scale. This gives us the opportunity to create a larger, more diverse PR Divison, which, as I mentioned before, will operate projects that benefit members of OTF. As well as some established projects (e.g. the convention site, awards, etc.), there will also be some new additions to look out for! A publishing division will also be created which contains the cornerstones of the Communications Department, The Tribune and Yearbook. Both will be improving on last year and going from strength to strength. As well as the The Archives, which will be a way of preserving some OTF history. |

As for future plans, well, I would like to see the
deparment grow, at least once the newer projects start
to get off the ground. I would also like to see it
being an important support to the marketing division
in making the outpost one of the most widely
recognised sci fi sites on the net."
