The Wizard Update

Article by Bryce

As most of you are aware, the WizardsÂ’ highly anticipated Final Fantasy events were finally carried out last month. IÂ’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say that I had a blast. We had an excellent turnout; I havenÂ’t seen Minas Tirith that busy since, well. . .never. *l* Anyway, for those of you who may have missed the events, IÂ’ve decided to give a brief summary of them all in this edition.

Firstly, we had the Final Fantasy VII trivia, hosted by none other than myself, along with my assistant, Jarek. It was no ordinary trivia as the questions were made by the Wizards, rather than the trivia team. Steven Norton proved just how well he knew Final Fantasy; he won the RPÂ’s by a landslide. Hobbie on the other hand was funnier than a rainbow-colored Chocobo, which earned him the Wannabe rank. Despite the World Cup going on at the same time, we had a decent size crowd for it.

Right after the trivia, we had the Chocobo race. It was a long and vigorous race, but the racers and their Chocobo were able to finish. . .well, most of them anyway.* In the end, Jarek & Balco tied for S-class, Aeon received A-class, and KypÂ’D & Queen Demon tied for B-class.

The next afternoon, the Wizards held the Final Fantasy Battle Tournament. Black Mages, Monks, Warriors, and Thieves used all their might to try and overcome the other battlers and become the champion. It came down to Ricardo, BalcoÂ’s Monk versus Bola Ashrod, LucÂ’s Black Mage. Only one could win, though, and in the end, LucÂ’s mage came out on top.

That night, some uninvited Final Fantasy monsters decided to party. They locked Ryo in a closet, and then partied for about an hour, wrecking Minas Tirith and treating ISA officers as bar tenders. The Turks found out, however, and crashed their party. Ryo was freed and the monsters were driven out. The good news is that no one was harmed apart from a partly scorched moogle, and a frightened Butterbur. The bad news is that it took the Wizards a week to clean up the mess that the monsters left behind. The monsters partied so hard, that theyÂ’re still sleeping it off.

Well, that sums up what went down during the Final Fantasy Days. The Wizards would like to thank everyone who helped out or participated in the events. It was through you all that these events were able to be such a major success. We all had a great time, and we hope to do something like this again sometime. Remember to always keep your eyes and ears open for projects happening in the Outpost 10F fantasy sector.

*Disclaimer: No Chocobos were harmed during the WizardsÂ’ Final Fantasy Days.
