Outpost Library Update

It has been a long time coming, but we are almost there!

Our new Star Wars sections, "The Classic Trilogy, Expanded Universe and The Timeline" are in the final stages of production. Shaker has voluntered to do the final html work for us and will be adding all the excellent graphics that PV created. Tierce is also hard at work with Shoko's graphics for the Sci-Fi section and that page will be built and opened by the end of February.

LinDaX has graciously agreed to design the new Horror Section - its almost finished! And Suzy Q is our webdesigner of choice for the new Fantasy page - we hope to have that ready for you by mid-April. There has been an unanticipated delay in the Star Trek Section as our page designer has had educational priorities but I believe that section is back on track again and hope we can unveil the new pages in April as well.

Now for the new stuff! The Outpost Library will be opening a new section, "Chills & Spills" as soon as our newest graphic artist completes the page design and we have some reviews to post. This section will be a combination of murder and mystery novels/thrillers and suspense, as well as action/adventure books. This will be the perfect place for Indiana Jones, Dirk Pitt and James Bond. The works of authors like Robert Ludlum, Nelson DeMille, Fredrick Forsythe, Patricia Cornwell, J.A. Jance and Tom Clancy will all fit in this category.

I would like to apologize to all our faithful readers and reviewers, the book lovers of OTF, for the delays in completing this project. Unexpected moves, real life job and school issues of our staff and team members, and the Project Leaders lack of technical expertise has kept the Library a bit behind the past months. But, the review team has been reading and writing thru it all and there will be over 35 new reviews in the Library within the next few days.

We would like to ask all the members of Ten Forward to take a look at the Star Trek Section - we are woefully short on Star Trek reviews. There are over 350 Trek Books out there, and we haven't even scratched the surface. The Library is a reflection of our members and their interests and I would be disappointed if it appeared, as we move forward with the Vision Plan and become a definite presence on the 'net, that anyone viewing that section sees where our interests don't lie. So, this is an appeal, a request, and a little begging and groveling to add more reviews to the Star Trek section of the Outpost Library - Pretty Please??

As always, the Library likes to hear from our members. We want to know what you read, and waht you want to read. So don't be shy. Send an email and I promise to answer. Send in a submission and write a review. Join the Library, read a book. You won't regret it.
