Convention Report

I am going to tell all of you, about my convention experience, in 2001. I attended the annual  Sci-Fi Convention in Toronto Canada. It is held every July on a Friday night, to a Sunday night, at a huge hotel near the airport. This is the 16th year for Toronto Trek The following actors were booked, and came to the con.  
1. Andreas Katsulas-Babylon5, Tomalak-Star Trek:TNG, One-armed Man-The Fugitive  
2. Armin Shimmerman- Quark- Star Trek:DS9, Principal Snyder- Buffy, Pascal- Beauty & the Beast  
3. Tim Choate- Zathras-Babylon 5, Polix- Crusade  
4. Michelle Nolden - T'Than- Earth Final Conflict, La Femme Nikita- Relic Hunter  
5. Robert Trebor- Salmoneus- Hercules and Xena  
6. Rick Wharton- The Conspiracy Guy- Space: TIS Comedian  
7. Lawrence Montaigne- Stonn/Decius- Star Trek plus Batman, Time Tunnel, Man from UNCLE, and many more.  
8. Leni Parker- Da'an- Earth: Final Conflict  The following Script-Coordinator Guest  was booked:

1. Art Show and Auction  
2. You get a Guests Autograph and Picture, but not at the same time. You must stand in line for hours, to get both.  
3. Charity Auction- Proceeds go to Ronald McDonald house, and at least 1 guest usually auctions something off. 
5. Model  building contest  
6. Saturday night Dance  
7. Dealers Room  
8. Gaming Room  
9. Masquerade to watch and enjoy. Masquerade awards given out at the dance.  
10. Pokemon Tournament  
11. Saturday night dinner with the stars, if you pre-register, and choose this option.  
12. Video Room  
13. Ten Forward for children, where 1 parent must stay with them.  
14. Writer's Workshop  
15. Hear the guests speak  
16.Klingon Karaoke, in one of the Hotel Bars. You must be 19, to attend, and drink alcohol.

17. And there is so much more to do all weekend, as well. The hotel had 4 Restaurants, an Indoor and Outdoor swimming pool, and a Gym. In the Dealers room, and at the Charity Auction, the Convention only accepts VISA and CASH. In the rest of the Hotel, they accept MASTERCARD. It does cost, to enter the convention. The convention is not free. It is not cheap to get in, but if you pre-register, you will save money. The Hotel room rates are from $89.00-$310.00/night Canadian, depending the type of room you would like to have. You must mention Toronto Trek, to get these special rates. Regular room rates are much higher. If you do not find the phone # on the web site, for the hotel, let me know, and I will find it for you. The Convention date for 2002, is Friday July 5- Sunday July 7.  
The Web Site is http://tcon.ca and some guests are announced already, so bookmark the web site, and check it often. More announcements will be made, as guests are finalized.  
The pre-registration form is on the main web page. When pre-registering, you must fill out the form, print it out, and mail it in with your cheque(check). The address to mail it to, is on the pre-registration form page. If your interested in coming this year, please contact me, at chris@acncanada.net from TF, the following are coming, Rozokov, Lone Star and most likely myself.  You must contact me soon, if your interested. You should book your hotel room now, to get your  hotel room. You have until 6pm, on the day you arrive, to cancel your room.
