Taste of the Outpost: Apple Cider Pepper “Pulled” Chicken

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1.5 cups peppers and onions
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons of paprika
  • 2 teaspoons of ground dry mustard
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 cups of apple cider vinegar


  • Directions
  • Place the sliced apples and onions and peppers on the bottom of the slow cooker
  • Take the chicken breasts, and lay them on the top of the apples, peppers, and onions
  • Add salt, pepper, paprika, dry mustard, chicken stock, and apple cider vinegar Cook on low for 7-8 hours
  • Take chicken breasts from slow cooker and pull them apart with tongs or two forks then return to slow cooker

  • Serve on bread or pretzel buns
