HOW TO DONATE + WHERE IT GOES by HAL


So here's how it works. When you make a donation on the front page it goes to a PayPal account that Iain and I have access to. From there I transfer the money as needed to a bank account to make payments. Part of the responsibility split that Iain and I share at OTF is that I handle the financial side of things and that's been the case since we took over seven years ago. All donations made through that form go 100% towards paying for hosting with any extra amount being held in reserve against a future date when there isn't as much money coming in.

And to be perfectly honest there isn't as much coming in as there once was. It's not as big of a problem as it once was though as we're able to operate OTF at a fraction of the cost that it once incurred before I took over from Andrew Maxwell. We've managed to keep the lights on and keep a healthy buffer for some time now, and we're always looking for new ways to stretch the OTF dollars even more.
