I am pleased to announce that the first Star Trek Sim for OTF in quite a while was a success. I had the pleasure of running the game as Captain of the USS Pulsar. It is not something I had expected or even wanted when I first joined up with the Simming team. However I am very happy that I had the opportunity to do it. I had never run a game session like that before and had my worries about doing it, but the players and Simming team made it quite easy.
Just in case some of you missed our cast of players, here is a list of who all participated:
I am hoping I did not leave out anyone. If I did, please let me know and I shall have the issue corrected.
The USS Pulsar was able to make it to Vulcan on its mission to pick up the Ambassador, V'Lar. Where they promptly, but not completely without issue, made their way to where the Test Ship Nisa would make her test run.
Curing the Voyage there was the murder of the first officer, Commander Keeler, much to T'Pel’s disappointment as she also learned that there may be a saboteur on board. The crew went into action to either uncover or assist the acts of sabotage and as the story progresses we may find out who is really behind it.
All during the action our wonderful Red Shirt played by Sarek was the Comedy relief that Star Trek has always had an element of and had most people sides in stiches with his comedic brilliance.
I also want to give a shout out to our adorable Vulcan Comms Officer N'k Tarrine who did her best to keep the ships communications working while “answering the phone” and “putting it on speaker”. She was in her own right another one of the comedic geniuses on board. I also want to thank her for her pre-sim efforts in System editing everyone with ranks and some (mainly me) with avatars. It made the whole game play experience that much more enjoyable.
Not to leave out my Chief of Tactical who performed his duties admirably but not without some chagrin toward his Captain and took orders and followed through with them. His bravery in stepping up to the spot of First officer after the demise of Commander Carrie Anna Keeler did not go unnoticed and was a great help.
I would also like to thank Trinity as Lt. Cmdr. Nicole Ryan as she had done research in her efforts to play her character as needed for plot twists. It was a blast to have her aboard.
In all honesty I really want to thank everyone for turning out and showing their support and playing. I know I am not the only one who had a blast with this and it is very rewarding to see the Simming Teams hard work come to life, which was BECAUSE OF YOU! The players are why we do it and are the reason it works.
Please look for our next game coming up soon. I am sure there will be a notice tacked onto the Departments Announcement Board and I am looking forward to everyone returning for some more fun and drama!
And again...THANK YOU!
