From the Editor

Article by Richard Smith

Hello Everyone, and thanks for checking out this month’s issue of the Blue Report. I personally like to apologize for not being prompt in the release of the BR. I’ve been sick since the anniversary and even been in and out of the hospital, so it has not been my highest priority. I will endeavor to do better in the months ahead.

There have been some changes with the Blue Report, most notably with our Assistant Editor position. That has changed hands in the last month from Captain Werner to Lt. Commander Paulie. Mr. Numbers decided to step back and focus on his team and of course being my right hand man as AM of Communications. Please join me in congratulating Paulie to his new position. We are looking forward to his stepping up into this new role.

Now, this month’s issue is a condensed one. Let’s face it, after the anniversary we all needed a little time to breather so we took it a little easy. BUT that doesn’t mean we don’t have some good stuff. Check it out. It may be a quick read, but it is a good one.

It’s back to business as usual, and as always if you have any questions or comments, make sure to leave them in the articles below. Thanks for reading this month. Smith Out.

Trips in OTF's Future...

Article by Richard Smith

So with the first major OTF Union in years in the books, we thought we would ask Team Leader Robert Werner, AKA Mr. Numbers, what is going on with the team right now. Unions team is looking forward to many more get-togethers in the future.

BR: So what is new with Unions Team?

RW: We're now planning a couple years out. This gives us time to perfect the Union for better fun for all.

BR: That sounds interesting. What was the logic behind that?

RW: The 2013 Union had some flaws,I want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

BR: So where is the team planning to take us next?

RW: Numbers: Minneapolis, MN

BR: Middle of the Country huh?

RW: Numbers: With middle of America we have a better chance of more and more people coming.

BR: Any special plans?

RW: The Mall of America is full of fun stuff. I'm sure the special plans will come along.

BR: Sweet. So where to next?

RW: That one is still in the works, we have a date and place but I'm trying to keep it under wraps until the next Union is done. I had fun presenting the upcoming Union at the Anniversary, maybe that can be a thing.

BR: Alright. How can OTFers submit locations for consideration?

RW: they can toss the ideas to my email at robertwerner@outpost10f.com.. If the idea doesn't seem to crazy I'll discuss it with my team, see what we can do.

BR: Where can people keep up to date on what’s going on as the unions get closer?

RW: Updates Board, Forums, asking Unions Team Members.

BR: Sounds good. Thanks for the update!

RW: Yup. No Problem.

Blue Report on Facebook Recap

Article by Paulie

September brings about another round of news from the many worlds of science fiction and fantasy, and here’s a peek into what was on the Blue Report on Facebook in the past month.

Someone thought it was a good idea to translate Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” into the Klingon language. Now, can you imagine Rick as a Klingon?

The Canadian town on Vulcan wants to fund the construction of a full size USS Enterprise. Original Series or Abramsverse? I guess we’ll see when the project is finished.

For our Game Of Thrones fans, Bran Stark will not be involved in Season 5. What followed that was a breakdown of the plot of Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Marvel has tentatively set a Doctor Strange movie for release for summer 2016, and a Deadpool movie will precede it in February. Rumors of a stand-alone Star Wars movie featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi also surfaced.

The cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation made arrangements to appear at New York Comic Con. This was followed by news of an e-book where Captain Picard and Doctor Crusher are headed for the altar – with Q as his best man? And the new rumor for the next installment of the Star Trek (Abrams) movie franchise is that not only may Spock have a cameo, but Kirk will as well, putting them both onscreen together since 1993. May the Great Bird Of The Galaxy bless that reunion.
