Hello Everyone,
I had planned a grand return to my video editor’s message, but it wasn’t meant to be this month. Maybe next month. Anyway, we have a lot to offer with this month’s Blue Report. We get caught up on all the promotions and most of the awards conferred during the Anniversary last month; Cameron sits down with me to talk about being the new SM of Communications, T’Pel recaps what happened in the first live Simm, make sure to look at the classifieds and see what’s open around the Outpost.
We are looking to expand our offering over the next few months and if you want to try your hand at something, please let me know. Thanks for reading this month!

It is ten years after Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, and the Federation is in a crisis. The Federation’s main suppliers of dilithium crystals are disappearing. Space and time have folded around several planets, effectively isolating them from any contact with outside worlds. And this phenomenon is not natural – someone or something is causing this to happen. This necessitates drastic measures; some of which are outside the Federation’s normal jurisdiction. For this, Admiral Pavel Chekov, head of Starfleet Intelligence, turns to Commander Tuvok, Voyager’s former security officer and current head of the newly reorganized Section 31. Tuvok must put together a new covert, renegade crew – mostly outcasts and rogues – even criminals. This new crew is tasked with finding out what is causing the folding of time and space, and stopping it – at all costs. But will they be able to put aside their differences and stop trying to kill one another in time to accomplish their mission?
Renegades will perhaps show the dark side of Star Trek. It will feature a combination of familiar Star Trek faces, plus a collection of hot, new rising actors.
Some of the Actors you may know which will be appearing in ST: Renegades:

I am pleased to announce that the first Star Trek Sim for OTF in quite a while was a success. I had the pleasure of running the game as Captain of the USS Pulsar. It is not something I had expected or even wanted when I first joined up with the Simming team. However I am very happy that I had the opportunity to do it. I had never run a game session like that before and had my worries about doing it, but the players and Simming team made it quite easy.
Just in case some of you missed our cast of players, here is a list of who all participated:
I am hoping I did not leave out anyone. If I did, please let me know and I shall have the issue corrected.
The USS Pulsar was able to make it to Vulcan on its mission to pick up the Ambassador, V'Lar. Where they promptly, but not completely without issue, made their way to where the Test Ship Nisa would make her test run.
Curing the Voyage there was the murder of the first officer, Commander Keeler, much to T'Pel’s disappointment as she also learned that there may be a saboteur on board. The crew went into action to either uncover or assist the acts of sabotage and as the story progresses we may find out who is really behind it.
All during the action our wonderful Red Shirt played by Sarek was the Comedy relief that Star Trek has always had an element of and had most people sides in stiches with his comedic brilliance.
I also want to give a shout out to our adorable Vulcan Comms Officer N'k Tarrine who did her best to keep the ships communications working while “answering the phone” and “putting it on speaker”. She was in her own right another one of the comedic geniuses on board. I also want to thank her for her pre-sim efforts in System editing everyone with ranks and some (mainly me) with avatars. It made the whole game play experience that much more enjoyable.
Not to leave out my Chief of Tactical who performed his duties admirably but not without some chagrin toward his Captain and took orders and followed through with them. His bravery in stepping up to the spot of First officer after the demise of Commander Carrie Anna Keeler did not go unnoticed and was a great help.
I would also like to thank Trinity as Lt. Cmdr. Nicole Ryan as she had done research in her efforts to play her character as needed for plot twists. It was a blast to have her aboard.
In all honesty I really want to thank everyone for turning out and showing their support and playing. I know I am not the only one who had a blast with this and it is very rewarding to see the Simming Teams hard work come to life, which was BECAUSE OF YOU! The players are why we do it and are the reason it works.
Please look for our next game coming up soon. I am sure there will be a notice tacked onto the Departments Announcement Board and I am looking forward to everyone returning for some more fun and drama!
And again...THANK YOU!
The captain sat in his ready room, staring at the delicately wrapped package on his lap. It was his birthday and he reflected on his life; a life that began as a 17 year-old enlistee and progressed to the captaincy. He remembered that first assignment aboard tbe USS Eclipse. He couldn't help smiling as he did so.
Crewman Sam Draco, aced his preenlistment exams, both mental and physical, and he finished first in both Basic and Advanced Specialty Training. So he was given the posting of his choice. Starfleet ordinarily places enlistees where Starfleet feels they are needed. Sam chose assignment as science tech aboard the Eclipse, and he took to the labs like a Kirk takes to a Galaxy class star ship. He decided to enlist rather than to enter Starfleet Academy simply because he wanted to "get out there and explore now!"
He didn't have long to wait. Eclipse was ordered to the planet Brax in the Gamma Quadrant, via the worm hole at Deep space 9. Brax had been visited earlier by a free lance archeologist named Vash. This piqued the interest of Starfleet Science. Sam Draco's interest was piqued as well.
Soon, Eclipse was orbiting Brax over a suitable survey location. Captain Artemio Bonafacio appointed an away team, among whom were First Officer, Commander Viktor Lentz; Science Officer, Lieutenant Murak (Draco's immediate superior, a Vulcan); Sam Draco; several other science techs, including an attractive young Crewman named Ruth Bonner; and two Security personnel.
The survey site where the away team beamed down was a veritable treasure trove, despite being overgrown with foliage. In front of them stood ruins of buildings built thousands of years in the past by a civilization quite advanced even then. There were myriad artifacts within the ruins. Outside were mineral specimens of every sort.
Commander Lentz spoke, "This is far better than Starfleet anticipated. Our primary task will be to gather artifacts. That should just about fill the three days we've been allotted. I'd like to bring back some minerals as well. Any formal archeological digging will have to wait for the next mission. So, let's get to it!"
Crewman Bonner spoke next, "Sir, if you'll allow me to concentrate on mineral gathering, the rest can concentrate on artifacts."
"Good idea, Crewman," Lentz replied, "But be careful. We don't know what's out there."
For three days, everyone gathered and catalogued everything they could. Sam Draco had a keen eye for what to collect. Early on the third day, he approached Lieutenant Murak. He held up a small crystal-like skull made of what appeared to be transparent gold. He said, "Sir, I think this will be of intrest to the Bajorans."
"Indeed, Crewman. That artifact is the primary reason this mission was undertaken. I believe you will go far in Starfleet."
Just then, a shrill scream shattered the calm. Sam Draco looked around to see Ruth Bonner lying on the ground nearby, struggling against a plant that had tentacled her left leg just above the ankle. He ran to her side and said, "Stay calm. I'll get you out of this." Then, shouting "Security!" A security man's phaser severed the tendril. Still, Sam couldn't remove the thing from her leg and there was raw flesh under the coil. So he cut a length of cord and applied a tourniquet above her knee. He next took two small, garnet-like spheres from Ruth's collection kit and enclosed her fingers around them. "For luck," he said.
Ruth Bonner was beamed directly to Sick Bay.
Sam visited Sick Bay as soon as he possibly could. "How is she, Doctor," Sam asked, worried.
"Son, your tourniquet saved that girl's life!" Then, looking at he floor, Doctor Lazarou continued, "Unfortulately, I had to take her leg just below the knee. Damned poisonous devil plant!"
Sam looked in on the sleeping girl. His eyes welled with tears.
Later, sam was given the unique honor of presenting the Golden Skull in person to none other than colonel Kira Narys, Bajoran commander of Deep Space Nine; An honor he would cherish for a lifetime.
His thoughts returning to the present, Captain Draco gingerly opened the package. Inside was a ring made of transparent gold and set with Bajoran Garnet. The ring fit perfectly. The accompanying note said simply, You are my life! Happy birthday! I love you! Ruth. P.S. And don't call me Peg! *grin*

Dear Agony Aunt,
I've emailed the Executive Council. Still waiting on a reply. I've been told that it's sometimes slow because they obviously discuss things then answer, what should I do in the meantime?
