Welcome to the Yearbook 2010!
During the past few months, the Outpost10F Community has been going through many changes.
Programmers, Designers and people like me and you want to help make this place a more active society.
Our community is trying moving forward and doing positive things to promote and market the Outpost.
Entertainment, Communications & Research and Development are taking the for front in making change.
Entertainment has branched out into the interwebs to promote using Social Media, Communications is currently
rewritting their strategy about External News and Internal Outpost News, and Research and Development is hammering
away with Proof of Concept ideas to present to the Executives for possible implementation to spruce up the site
making it more attractive to potential members.
We have noticed a great surge in new chatters coming to OTF. Some of those members coming from our
popular Black Nova Traders game, which is always a nice mix. Invite people, we all ways
are looking for someone new into the fold, and especially those who wish to contribue their time to OTF.
The 2010 Yearbook is filled with lots of information this year from everyone at every level.
Read it, Enjoy it and Share it.

A year of changeSenior Manager: CommunicationsHello everyone!
So we have had a very eventful year since the last Yearbook was published - and they are changes we've all seen pretty recently! A lot has been made about the "death" of the Outpost and how we should let sleeping dogs lie instead of attempting to fix things. This, for me, misses the point: I don't think people are looking to restore "the good old days", but instead create a better and brighter future so people enjoy their chat experience a lot more and we're able to bring in a steady supply of 'fresh blood' to the Outpost.
Two changes that I have personally been involved with are the restoration of both the Entertainment and Communications department. I was first asked to take a lead within Entertainment back in February, and after a few months' hard work, we finally got the department functioning with three teams, and a re-hashed Simming Team, which is now developing very well. I don't want to say too much about Entertainment, as that will be down to CL8 Mike, my successor as Senior Manager.
I can discuss Communications, however! Now the old Comms department often struggled to find a mandate and had a plethora of teams that eventually died away and were buried. In the revival process, what we are looking to do is trim down the teams and make the re-formed department as streamlines as possible with a clear vision and goal, with all teams working towards that goal. In this view, we have created the Outpost News Team and the External News team to keep you all informed about changes around the Outpost (via the Blue Report etc) but also in the Sci-Fi world at large. We are hopeful these changes will cement Communications as a viable, strong and successful department, helping to shape the way for the Outpost.
Of course, the Outpost isn't all about departments and promotions - it is about people having fun, and we all do that in varying ways: some like to get involved, and others are happy to just chat. The main thing is that we all enjoy our time on our website and all find something enjoyable to keep us returning. So whatever you like about the place, and whatever it is that is making you return, let's all work together in hoping those things stay in place.
Regards,
CL8 AJ

Welcome to the Interviews area!
This is where you can see some lucky individuals put under pressure in the yearbook hotseat under the interrogation of our very own Lzrman. Some hated it, some loved it and some loved it a little bit too much!
We will leave you to evaluate our efforts! |
