The Outpost 10F Blue Report was once again packed with information this month, on a wide variety of science fiction news.
On March 29, it was revealed that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be returning to the big screen in the next Terminator movie. He did always say that he’ll be back.
The next day, Whovians mourned the passing of Kate O’Mara, known in the classic series as the renegade Time Lady, The Rani.
April 3rd brought news of a Lucasfilm collaboration with The Big Bang Theory, for an episode commemorating Star Wars Day, this May the Fourth.
That was sandwiched by another death in the classic Whoniverse, this time beingGlyn Jones, the writer of the First Doctor serial, “The Space Museum”. May they both rest in peace. Or regenerate. Whichever is appropriate.
April 7th brought news of a long overdue reunion between Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. Our veteran members of OTF will remember that Robin Williams became famous during his time on the sitcom wth a scifi spin, “Mork And Mindy”. Dawber would guest star on “The Crazy Ones” with Williams, April 10th on CBS.
Ten days later, StarTrek.com published an article featuring a Q-Continuum based comic.
A week later, Robert Smith posted a mock up of a movie poster, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as Grand Admiral Thrawn, of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and while that article claims that the writers of the film/trilogy “will take inspiration from everywhere”, they seem uninterested in bringing the EU into onscreen canon. This was substantiated by another article that said much the same thing, posted the afternoon of April 26th. And lastly, for our Tolkien fans, it was revealed that the third Hobbit film will be entitled “The Battle of the Five Armies”.
