Interview with the new Brass

Article by Ayanna

As many of you know Tanya was made CIC and Katrina was Made Vice Commander during the 20th Annivesary so we here at the Blue Report thought it would be a good idea to interview them both and see what sort of vision they have for the Outpost.

BR: How does it feel to be in command now?

Tanya: While I've been the active leader on the ground for a while now, so the day to day is the same. It is a big difference for me to have a VC by my side. Katrina has stepped very naturally into her role, as she was in many ways already doing it. I will admit there is still an element of disbelief that I am CiC after all these years.

BR: Same question to you Katrina

Katrina: It feels just the same as it did before, but with a bit more work on my plate. I've been making pretty high level command decisions for some time now on the EC and since InDev lives in my house, it's a pretty natural fit. I have to think a bit more before I type now, which is a challenge because my thoughts tend to spill out uninterrupted.

BR: Very good, So what sort of changes if any can we expect to see at the Outpost?

Tanya: The changes we will see in the coming months are from the energy generated by the 20th Anniversary. There should be some experimental projects and events popping up, as you may have seen already. We are greatly enjoying the inspiration and resurgence in the chat these days, and the inflow of ideas from members. While we don't expect members to live in the chat on a daily basis, we would like to provide opportunities for the community to come together for some laughs and fun in chat.

BR: What about you Katrina? What changes can we see coming from your aspect?

Tanya: Moving forward, we'd like to see more chances for chatters to engage with the community. We'd like to be more mobile-friendly. This change in command hasn't been a surprise -  in retrospect it's been slowly approaching this direction for several years now. Most of the changes you have seen over the past two or three years have been the two of us (and our teams) working towards improvements.

BR: Before we wrap up this interview is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Katrina: I'd like my focus to be on building the community - that's our strength and it always has been, regardless of all the trappings that may or may not be attached to each individual. My personal goal is for each thing I do to improve that sense of community at least a little bit.

BR: And what about you Tanya anything else you would like to share with us?

Tanya: A hearty congratulations to Outpost10F on its 20th year, and a big thank-you to all of our members for continuing to make us their favorite online bar. We will continue serving the drinks, as long as there are patrons to drink them!

BR: Alrighty then, thank you both for taking this time to do this interview, and can't wait to see what new changes are coming to the outpost.
