Communications

A year holds huge changes for any department in Outpost10f with the comings and goings on top of new projects' releases and old ones being replaced. The Communications Departments' has been through more than a departments' share of normal changes. As of August 2003, our fearless kitty leader KittyKat stepped down from her position of Senior Manager handing over the Communications reigns to SuzyQ. In the absence of her new 1st Assistant Manger, SuzyQ choose Nobbe as the 2nd Assistant Manager to help her rule this side of the mafia reign. Amanda Sielu Paris returned in the spring of 2004, but these three had a huge task in front of them. With the help of Lindax and Tachyon, the Awards Team released the new and improved Shuttlebay now run by Lzrman as the Gateway. Although a few things have changed, the Gateway offers a more open genre for our Star Wars and Minas Tirith chatrooms to join in and make it a community project. Just when the Communications Department got the Gateway up and running, Nobbe was promoted to the Deputy Sector Commander post alongside Hong in Minas Tirith. Communications was once again without an Assistant Manager. Sidne was chosen by Suzy and Amanda as she helped Amanda bring back the Publishing Team. This task would, however, prove daunting.

Sidne, backed by Cam and Michiel, somehow created a miracle with the help of her new Yearbook team to pull it off. This article is just proof of that, seeing it is published in this accomplishment. The Tribune is still under works, but Plugboy has helped Amanda with the behind-the-scenes work that has yet to surface. This will not be unveiled until after the Anniversary however, since the Yearbook took priority in getting it out there in time for the August celebrations.

Although Communications still has a few tricks up their sleeve, the Public Relations Team has continued their phenomenal work on several projects that they hold steady such as the Convention Pages, Event Calender, Suggestion Box, Unions Site, Gossip Board, and even a project that is still under the sheet as of right now. This has been a major rebuilding of the Communications Department, but great things are expected from the new leadership and those who follow loyally working long hours to make the department what it is today.
