This is the Communications Department. Here you'll find many
motivated and talented officers who dedicate their work to a unique
Sci Fi Community called: Outpost
10F
The Communications Department serves as the central network of Outpost
10F's online community and chat. In the Communications Department,
crewmembers from around the world develop and carry out projects in
order to ensure a friendly, fun, and positive environment.
Among the
most important tasks handled by Communications are the promotion
of Outpost 10F, and the relaying of important information between
the general population and the administration/departmental officers
of the outpost.
The Communications department is broken down into teams working
together ultimately, but each with their own specialty. The Public
Relations team promotes the outpost to others on the web and helps
to keep a positive chat environment as well as keeping members informed of events within the outpost, on the web and even in real life with a number of different projects. The awards team is the inverse of our promotions team, bringing
other great Star Trek and Star Wars related sites to the attention
of Outpost 10F. The Shuttlebay is a powerful search engine that provides the Outpost with only the best science fiction and fantast sites on the Web. The Yearbook task force is responsible for registering
happenings along the year and assembling them into the 10F Yearbook.
Finally, as a joint Marketing and Communications Project, we have the Suggestion Box. This enables OTF members to express their idea's and opinions on how to improve the outpost!
With such a wide variety of tasks, members with many types of skills
are used. The primary trait needed, and found in all Communication
officers is the will to work and to get the job done well.
