The room darkens and you grip your popcorn bag in excitement, the movie is about to start. The black screen shows nothing, but from somewhere in the room a deep hard sound hits your ears. At first you cannot tell if you only heard an echo of a far off sonic boom or if it was the start of the movie. Then you hear it again, and suddenly the screen flashes to life with brilliant lights, the music that accompanies the dazzling effects on the screen only make you more into the film you are beginning to watch. As the story unfolds the different styles ofmusic carries you on.
When the villian appears the music turns dark, making your emotions fear the villian. But Hope appears when the music turns victorious and the Hero appears on the scene. You get a warm fuzzy feeling when the damsel of the story flirts with the hero. Yet you feel sad when she bids him farewell, with a soft lasting kiss.
Have you ever thought of how Music effects the way you watch movies? From start to finish music is a constant in nearly every movie. The music binds you emotionaly to the storyline, makes you feel you are a part of it. If you have never thought about that, then go see a movie and listen to the music in particular. You will see and understand that without music, the movie would leave you cold.
