In case you were wondering what what happening with the stars of Return of the Jedi, here's waht our newest writer Zack Lyons found out:

Mark Hamill (b.21st September 1951) Luke Skywalker:

After Return of the Jedi, 1983, Mark Hamill concentrated on theatre, and appeared in several Broadway plays, including The Elephant Man, and Amadeus. His most challenging role was the one he originated, that of Tony Hart in Harrigan 'n Hart. He sang and danced in that role, and garnered a Drama Desk nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. He also did several off- Broadway plays.

Returning to film in 1989, Mark has also made several guest appearances on television shows. Two of the most recent are Just Shoot Me! and The Simpsons. Using his talent for disguising his voice, Mark is much in demand as a voice-over actor. It's been said that he could be the next Mel Blanc. Watch Little Mermaid, Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby, Batman: The Animated Series, and SpiderMan to hear how versatile he is!

Mark has done several projects in the computer games field, as well. Most notable is as Colonel Christopher Blair in 'Wing Commander III and IV, and Wing Commander:Prophecy. The Black Pearl, a five-part graphic novel Mark co-wrote with Eric Johnson, was released on 18 September 1996. They have adapted it to a screenplay. Mark is currently working on the video game version.

Mark has done work on the indie film, Walking Across Egypt. At this time, a distributor has not been found. Along with several other films, it was given a Crystal Heart award at the Heartland Film Festival in October 1999. After a brief theatrical run, it was a Blockbuster Premiere video. Check your local Blockbuster to rent the tape or dvd.

Currently, you can catch Mark voicing the character Larry 2000 in Time Squad, on Cartoon Network. He has also made two, and will be doing a third guest appearance on the FX show, Son of the Beach as the character Rod Petrie. He is scheduled to direct an upcoming show as well. Recently he played Valerie's bumbling Uncle Ned on VIP,and was the subject of an A & E Biography episode, that aired 21 May 2002.

Mark was executive producer and co-creator of a new claymation series, Monsters Wanted. Airing on AMC, he directed the voice work as well as voicing two of the characters. In March 2003, Mark starred in the play, Six Dances in Six Lessons, which ran 21 March- 13 April 2003, in Coconut Grove, FL.

Harrison Ford (July 13th 1942) Han Solo:

While some actors are lucky if they get one popular film series in their career, Ford added another one after Star Wars, starting in 1981 when he teamed with producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg on Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) which was followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in '84 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (which co-starred Sean Connery) in 1989.

Okay, so an actor blessed with two successful and lucrative franchises won't find any other great roles, right? Wrong. In 1982, Ford made the sci-fi cult hit Blade Runner. He followed that with a great performance in 1985's Witness, a role that earned him an Oscar® nomination. That was followed by The Mosquito Coast in 1986 and Working Girl and Frantic in '88.

Ford started off the 90's with Presumed Innocent and Regarding Henry and then hopped into yet a third franchise when he took over the role of Jack Ryan that Alec Baldwin played in The Hunt for Red October. Ford played the CIA operative in both Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

Ford then made The Fugitive in 1993, remade Sabrina in 1995, and worked with Brad Pitt in The Devil's Own. He took back control of a big plane in Air Force One and lost control of a smaller one in Six Days Seven Nights. Random Hearts and What Lies Beneath both took beatings from the critics. He has just appeared in K-19: The Widowmaker.

Carrie Fisher Princess Leia Organa:

On the Literary front, Carrie became a sensation with her New York Times best selling Postcards From The Edge, and won the Los Angeles Pen Award for best first novel. Two more best selling novels, Surrender The Pink and Delusions Of Grandma followed. Currently, she is working simultaneously on more novels, developing a TV series for Universal, and two new film comedies at Walt Disney and Working Title Pictures. Carrie Fisher continues to be one of the most sought-after "script doctors" in Hollywood.

Alec Guiness (1914-2000) Obi-wan Kenobi:

Guinness scored his greatest television success in 1979 when he created the role of veteran spy George Smiley in John LeCarre's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" (aired in the USA on PBS' "Great Performances" in 1980) which he later reprised in "Smiley's People" (1982). Returning full circle to his cinematic beginnings with "Little Dorrit", an adaptation from Dickens, he earned yet another Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actor in the role of William Dorrit, the title character's imprisoned father.

Although not retired from acting, he worked less frequently in the 1990s, concentrating much of his time on his memoirs, published in two volumes, "Blessings in Disguise" (1985) and "My Name Escapes Me" (1997). He died in the year 2000, after a successful career.

Peter Mayhew - Chewbacca:

Since ROTJ, Mayhew has started a company (or maybe two) using the money he made from the films. Some sources say that he started a timber company, others say a bed frame company. Who knows, maybe both! But either way, he closed them down a few years back to start the tour circuit. HE is often seen at Star Wars comventions and is a member of the "Men behind the Masks", a group which also includes David Prowse, Kenny Baker, and Jeremy Bulloch. Mayhew also makes appearances at Children's Home and Hospitals, and often brings them toys.

Mayhew currently lives in Texas when he's not touring. Mayhew is a Star Wars purist (yeah!) which means that he onlt believes what George Lucas writes in actual Star Wars, and everything else is someone else's take on the story. Mayhew enjoys the Star Wars toys and merchandise, especially the art.
