Well Dragon Month is over and I apologize to all the membership for the lack of events that were done this year. You know we had some great plans that we were unable to do. Of course the Outpost being up and down for repairs, off and on for the whole week did not help . We did manage to get a few hours of fun on Saturday the 28th and that was very enjoyable to all of those that participated in AH. We thank the members that came for your continued support.
Maybe next year we can return to the events we use to have for Dragons/Medieval Times month. Does anyone remember the Dragon Sanctuary? The Dragon Gala stories? Or the adoptions? We had really wanted to do a contest for the best new Kingdom but with all the things happening we could not manage it but then there is next year. Also many of our knights had wanted to have our first Annual Tournament so maybe we can get that in soon for a trial run we will work on it.
Anyways, seems next thing on the agenda is the Outpost is having a Anniversary soon. The Guilds are busy not only trying to make changes but also getting everything cleared and ready to send off to the judges for awards.
We have had some good work submitted this year and I am as excited as anyone to find out who will be the Poet, Artist, Writer of the Year. There will of course be other awards given for the reviewers and biographers contributions.
The Guilds will give out their department awards which will include the
Excellence Award of the Year etc. We do have a private party too *shhhhh* where we give out Smile and Zannies' crazy awards which none of us knows who will end up with what. "Whiner of the Year, Oopsie Award, Did I do that?, Uh OH, but each year they come up with a new batch some not so flattering but always in fun. Good thing we have a sense of humor here. Maybe we should have a new Guild??? Humor or Comedy Guild???
So while the rest of you sit back on your laurels vacationing the Guilds work is never done. July starts the official year of 2004 for us so keep sending in your submissions and we will keep putting them up. See you at the Ceremony in August.
Check the Boards for the final Writers' Guild submission date which is on July 9th. Good luck to everyone!
Remember we do this for fun and for appreciation of those that put up their work. We love you all and sincerely appreciate all the entries and support that is given to the Guilds each and every year. Keep your pens moving, you paints flowing and your friendship expanding.
