Book Store Beat

Boy-oh-boy - did I goof. The Admiral is never going to forgive me. I forgot to tell everyone about our favorite place to shop for books online and my butt is gonna be in a sling when he reads this one.

amazon.com is our partner when it comes to buying things online. All the book reviews that are in the Outpost Library are linked directly to the book itself at amazon.com. If you click your mouse on the picture of the book cover, you will be taken directly to that book on amazon's site. From this point, you can shop online at the amazon.com store for books, cd's and dvd's, music and lots of other stuff.

Now, here's the kicker. Every time one of our members orders something from amazon.com by FIRST entering their site through the Outpost Library, OTF gets a percentage of the price. It is a very small percentage, but any monies that we get from this source can go to upgrade our pretty blue server that lives in downtown Vancouver, BC, CANADA and is watched over with tender loving care by Admiral Maxwell and his partner in crime, the mysterious CiC (he does exist - really - I have met him - trust me :P)

The Library now has 430 book reviews and we are always looking for more (oh heck - wrong section - I am supposed to be selling books here, not reading them) books to be reviewd - the more we have in the Library, the better potential we have for revenues to support the community so we never become one of those site with all that really nasty pop-up banner nonsense and annoyingly tacky advertising.

A note to our members who are on the "other side of the pond", you can access amazon.com UK, and all the other international sites they have thru our Library to order anything they have to offer in whatever language or style $$ it takes to get it to you.

So, thats my take on OTF's favorite books store - they have everything, and you can support our community whenever you shop there. Now, go read a book - but buy it online from amazon.com first!
