Yes, we are still awaiting our design page but that doesn't keep us down at the Film Guild. Dracmus is a hard taskmaster and with her whip in hand commands the reviewers we have to carry on.....giving them support and encouragement along with a lash if they need it. We are still cranking out reviews and bios and watching the screen scene.

It is interesting to note that sci-fi and supernatural type series are hot at the moment. A lot can be contributed to the orignal programming of scifi channel but the probing of the dimensions around us is still of much interest. We have had Charmed, Angel, Buffy, X-files, Smallville, Roswell, etc all which held their own.

There are others that have popped up and left about that quick not because they were not good series but simply cause the viewers were not there nor the advertising and they often have a tendency to move them around so much we got frustrated trying to find out where they are.....Chronicles, Birds of Prey, Firefly and others.

There are two new additions to the ABC line up that I really think you all should take a look at .....Veritas: The Quest and Miracles. Lord knows I am one that is critical but they look very very promising. I am an advocate of Dead Zone which I have found intriguing and a good watch so I thought hmmm Miracles is just a knock off but no it is not. It is a totally different concept. Picture this.

In Miracles Paul Callan (Skeet Ulrich) an investigator of modern miracles for the church is about to launch himself into a fantastic journey in his life. His faith has been slowly detoriating and the question "we're all alone down here." is foremost in his mind but then something happens that changes his mind.

During a routine enquiry of another "so called miracle" Paul finds himself entwined with a young boy with the power to heal named Tommy Ferguson. Problem is everytime Tommy heals someone he becomes weaker and sicker. A car accident occurs and Paul's life is saved by Tommy however the young boy pays for this miracle with his life. Before Tommy dies both he and Paul see the words "God Is Now Here" written in Paul's blood. What does this mean? It changes Paul and confuses him even more. When he returns to the church to tell them of his findings they ignore him like he is nuts and so he resigns his job in frustration.

Paul then meets Alva Keel (Angus Macfadyen), a former Harvard professor and a current investigator of the paranormal. They are both leary of each other but seem to feel drawn at the same time and you get the distinct feeling that maybe one of them may have a key to interpret the mystery of the growing number of new and strange happenings all over the world. They both have a strong belief that a huge event is coming, a baneful and alarming event.

So in the episodes to come these two with the help of a former police officer named Evelyn Santos (Marisa Ramirez), will go anywhere and everywhere to uncover the truth of what is happening.....and hopefully find a solution to the "darkness" before it is too late.

Now for those who like action/adventure take a peek at the new series Veritas: The Quest. Yes it will remind you of Indiana Jones a bit but also has more of a supernatural twist.

Question presented.....you are a young boy with your mother in an ancient tomb......what if you stood there and watched your mom just vanish before your eyes never to be seen again? Then as you grow up you find out that your father is not who he seems to be? And then on top of that what if all you want is for your father to pay attention to you but he will not allow you in........and then you find your self in anyway? This changes your life and you begin an adventure you never dreamed of?

This is Nikko Zond's dilemma. He is a rebellioius teen, highly intelligent but still mourns the loss of his beloved mother, a renown archeologist working on uncovering secrets of the history of the world. He resents his workaholic father, Solomon who is a stranger to him since he has spent his childhood in one private school after another always finding ways to be expelled. Then on the day Nikko gets thrown out of yet another of the long line of schools he finds out that his father's career as a university professor is a lie, just a cover up and that he is the head of Veritas Foundation. Veritas Foundation seeks the truth that lies behind the mysteries of history and civilazation as we know it.

So the adventure begins as Nikko finds that he also has his parent's spirit of adventure running through his veins and finds himself entangled in the web of danger with his Dad. Solomn fights his son all the way but finally against his better judgment he will let his son join him into the secret world of Veritas and they will together start the long journey to unlock the mystery of the universe. Will this pull them back together after all this time of secrets? That remains to be seen.

The Veritas team also includes the mysterious Vincent Siminou, the by the book archaeologist Calvin Banks, and a computer scientist Maggie. There is also the tutor, Juliet Droil who is charged with the impossible task of keeping Nikko out of mischief.

So I advise you to take a watch of this as this group of explorers goes from Ancient Gaul to the North Pole. Who knows where next? There seems there will be no place where Veritas Foundation will not dare to go in order to seek the truth. Thing is will this secret organization which is never far behind them. Will they beat them to the punch?
