Hello to anyone taking the time to read this:

I want to talk a little bit about the community that is Outpost 10F. I know some (if not most) never met me or barely remember me, but I have been coming to the 10F group since before there was an Outpost. After an initial spurt which had me coming every night, I tended to slack off and disappear for months or even a year at a time.

Upon returning, I was always struck at how many people remember me, and how those I hadn't met were eager to know me. It says alot about the community that has been built here through a lot of hard work, patience, understanding, and general goodwill worldwide. There is a special acceptance of others here that embodies the meaning of all the worlds we enjoy. Be it Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or any other fantasy world. In a time where most of the other chatrooms are overrun by people who simply want to be annoying, post long graphics to distract others, or otherwise distrupt conversations, Outpost 10F has stood as a beacon to having fun, respecting others, and the unity that the Internet can provide.

It is the people here that have always drawn me back. I have been derelict in my duty as friend and chat occupant in not keeping up with those who have shown me friendship. I intend to be more active in the chatrooms, and to helping with the overall ambience that everyone has strived so hard to achieve here. And, who knows, I might even decide (with the approval of the Tribune editors) to give my own slightly offbeat commentary on things in the world. I owe you people alot, and I just wanted to say thanks for being the BEST place for hanging out with people online!

Take care,
Jason Stanford (Deadbeat)

P.S. My email is jrs0268@hotmail.com for anyone who wants to get up with me. I look forward to seeing you in the chatrooms.
