Officer Profile August 2003

Yes, I know. You missed your officer profile in the past two months, and we really apologise for any circumstances. But things have changed in the Tribune, and so it's my real pleasure to introduce myself to all of you (well, actually to all of them, who haven't seen me with my pencil and my note block in Ten Forward).

My name is Aeon and I'm the newbie, who's in charge for the Officer profile from now on. So I thought, why shouldn't you learn about me, the crazy new author of your favorite newspaper in the world! Well, your wish is my order, so here we go with the Officer profile of CL4 Aeon.

Q: Can you remember how you reached the Outpost community on the web?
A: Yes. I was looking for a good Star Trek website and as I found the Lucca Sambucca (or whoever) 200 Top Trek Sites, it didn't take long to find the Outpost.

Q: Can you remember the first person you started regularly chatting with in the rooms? Who was it? A: Terral. In the past he's been Commander, but I'm afraid, he's an Admiral now.

Q: In which department are you? What's your position?
A: Erm... Communications. I'm with the Tribune.

Q: Have you been in another department before?
A: No.

Q: Is there something in your department career, you're very proud of?
A: Getting into a department... :p

Q: Which genre are you affiliated to, Star Trek or Star Wars?
A: Star Trek

Q: When did you realize that you're a Star Trek fan?
A: When I bought my first uniform. No doubt, I became a fan.

Q: In which way, Star Trek changed your life and/or your career?
A: I believe, and I just can speak for myself, that I learned more about humans, about their personalities, their attitudes and stuff. I think, I became a very tolerant person and that's all thanks to Star Trek.

Q: Was it a single moment or an ongoing process?
A: An ongoing process, definitely. But it increased with every new episode, they've shown here.

Q: How does friends and family think about Trek? Are any of them fans or do you like to be fan for yourself?
A: My father, even if he denies it, is a huge fan of Counselor Troi, but I really think, that has something to do with her... erm... personality. :p

Q: How active are you in the fandom: collecting, reading, visiting conventions, model-kits, games, writing own stories, local fan activities...
A: I try to write my own stories, I'm reading, I'm member in the official fan club and I'm wearing the uniform. Sometimes. Rare.

Q: Some simple questions now. Please state:
a) your favorite Trek series
Deep Space Nine
b) your favorite Star Trek character and why
Jadzia Dax. She's an awesome person, smart, beautiful and strong. And she has a very good humour.
c) your favorite Star Trek movie(s)
First Contact and The Undiscovered Country
d) your favorite Star Trek species
Beside from the Trill, there are the Vorta, Borg, Romulans and nowadays the Vulcans.
e) your favorite Star Trek ship?
USS Prometheus, as seen in "Message in a Bottle" from Voyager"
f) the character and/or species in Star Trek you hate the most or just find annoying
Neelix. Harry Kim. And... Geordi.
g) your ideas for the next Trek movie?
None yet. Will there be one?
h) your favorite Star Trek author and novel
Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens
fav novel: "Millennium Omnibus" (by the Reeves-Stevens's) and "Black Fire" by Sonni Cooper

Q: Beside from chatting in the Outpost community, what are you doing in your real life? A: I'm single, living in Germany, and I work for a company which is in foreign trades. I translate contracts and everything else. In the evening I do some course at uni (once again) and beside from that, I try to relax and pamper myself.

Q: Where are you from?
A: As I said: Germany

Q: How old are you?
A: 25

Q: Hobbies, interests?
A: Music. I play piano and guitar and I sing in a very stupid band, called "The Crashed Traffic Signs"

Q: Don't be shy. Are there any special skills you can brag with?
A: hm... typing 480 letters/minute?! Does it count?

Q: Do you have a best friend in the Outpost? Who is it?
A: I don't know, if he's thinking the same, but I learned, that Marquis_Rex is a very good friend of mine. But there are so many others, I really do like, eg. Jemmima, TeeKay...

Q: And last but not least: If you'd be in Admiral Maxwell's position just for one day, what would you change?
A: Hm. Difficult question. (questioner's note: Yep, yep, that's why I asked...) Well, I think I'd promote everybody to Captain and see, what happens...

Well, we are through. I hope, you liked this "more than a doss"-thing and hopefully you'll come back in the next month to see, who'll be our new featured officer.

Until next time,
Annie Atkins
