At the beginning of time, an asteroid crashed on the earth. From the metal of that asteroid an ancient civilization created the Triangle of Light. With this Triangle, a man can control time but because of its great power, the people broke it in half and hid both pieces on the far ends of the earth. These pieces can only be reunited with a certain clock that also is a key on the day of the planetary alignment.
Lara finds this clock in her mansion but the Illuminati, the People of the Light, an ancient secret organization, wants to reunite the pieces and control time. They steal the clock from Lara, but Lara still has the chance to find the first half of the Triangle in Cambodia. From there on she works together with the Illuminati to get her dead father back.
