For our first November excursion, we are off to Bajor

Millennia ago, when humans were first walking erect, the Bajoran people were writing beautiful poetry and conducting masterful works of musical composition in perfect harmony to their surroundings. A species of true benevolence, their only goal in life was to enjoy nature. Deeply religious, the people of Bajor had no sizeable defense to halt the invasion of Cardassian Soldiers when, in 2318, a nearly fifty-year occupation of their world began which would break their backs, muddy their faces, and try their strength.

Yet, even though their torture would cost the lives of untold millions, their spirits were still intact as the last of the Cardassian occupation force evacuated in 2368. For five years after the Occupation Ended, the Bajoran people enjoyed relative calm, that is, until the Dominion War between the Federation and the Dominion, plunging the Alpha Quadrant, and much of the Beta Quadrant, into chaos. For two years, the Bajoran people survived unscathed; however, their fates depended upon the Federation for protection. Now, after nearly sixty years of unrealized dreams and dashed hopes, the Bajoran people are once again emerging as a cultural force whose truly imaginative culture can once again be appreciated as the wonder that it is.

Bajor is situated in the Denorios Belt on the fringes of Cardassian Space. Traversing the distance required to reach Bajor shouldn't be difficult, as even the most fallable of space-farers, as ships of all makes and models are constantly flowing in and out of the sector both to Bajor and its Federation Guardian, Deep Space Nine.

An M-Class world largely known for its abundant natural resources and immensely spiritual culture, Bajor is home to gardens famous for being masterpieces of architecture and style in a landscape once washed in the blood of its people. Renowned for their hospitality and honesty towards visitors, visitors looking to immerse themselves in nature may find visits to the Dahkur, D'lhara, and Lenar provinces of Belshirra continent fascinating, while those seeking a unique shopping experience might enjoy a jaunt down to the Rekantha province. On the Kahmira continent, noteable places to visit might include the provinces of Holdur, Relliketh, and Tralkim, to name a few, while on the Valaya continent, the province of Verenn contains such noteable attractions as the Volcanic Mountains, the Fire Caverns, and the Golian Spa. For those curious about the cultural heritage of the Bajoran people, any of the following locations might prove to be interesting:

Bajoran Central Archives -- A data storage facility that contains biographical data on the Bajoran people.
Bajoran Center for Science -- Prevalent scientific research facility renowned throughout the sector.
Bajoran Library -- Contains a collection of historical and contemporary Bajoran manuscripts.
Dakeen Monastery -- A religious retreat for spiritual seekers.
Jalanda Forum -- Bajoran cultural center located in Salassa on the Belshirra continent; recently refurbished following its destruction during the Occuptation.
State Museum -- Located in Ilvia on the Belshirra continent; houses artifacts of cultural significance.

Bajor is the ideal location to visit, whether it to be in the pursuit of a higher spiritual calling, or simply to lay back and relax. Visitors to Bajor never feel the same after their stay, and most of them always come back. We hope to see you soon!

Next, we are off to Coruscant! Planet: Coruscant
Location: Centre of the Universe
Terrain: Urban
Moons: Two

About Coruscant:Coruscant is entirely an urban planet that has developed through thousands of years of civilisation. Skyscrapers reach into the atmosphere and stretch all the way down to into the dark shadows. The city is called Imperial City and its foundations have been in place since the beginning of the Old Republic, over a thousand generations ago. The oldest and most dense population areas are situated around the equator. Numerous spaceports cover Imperial City and through that the sky is always filled with lights from the arriving and departing air traffic. To the south of the city lie the snow covered Manarai Mountains.

Coruscant was the seat of government for the Galactic Republic and the Empire that supplanted it. Some of the most important decisions in the galaxy have been made on Coruscant. It has long been the centre of government and the site of residence for the galaxy's Supreme Chancellor. Rulers such as Valorum and Palpatine have resided at Coruscant. As Coruscant was the centre for decisions that affected the commerce of the galaxy, it was also a nexus of graft and corruption. It was also the home of the Jedi Temple.

Things to do: When visiting Imperial City you have to catch at least a glimpse of The Imperial Palace, the impregnable fortress that hosts not only Leia Organa Solo's office but also the Council chamber and the Assemblage auditorium, which are connected by the Grand Corridor. Taller than all surrounding buildings the Palace is decorated with hanging gardens, crystal roofs, marble pyramids and patterns based on ancient Sith hieroglyphs that were decorated by the Emperor. If you at the hour see a light spreading across the sky, you should not be alarmed; it is merely the clock in the Central Gathering Hall which marks the hour with lights and has done so for the last 300 years.

If you just feel for taking a stroll in a nice environment, the Botanical Gardens are the place for you, or why not visit the Holographic Zoo of Extinct Animals or the Great Galactic museum, the latter which hosts ancient Sith artefacts thousands of years old. For winter sports, the snow-covered polar regions is where you want to be, huge pipelines that deliver melted ice run from here, all the way to the metropolitan areas. If you get hungry, you could always visit the diner where Obi-Wan Kenobi received crucial information about an assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala, Dex Diner. Here you can chat with the local labourers who usually stop by for a meal and to talk about sports, politics or other current events.

A warning is in place for anyone thinking about visiting the lowest, darkest levels of the city. Those areas were abandoned a long time ago and are now the home of discarded quipment, wrecked starships, mosses, spider-roaches and armoured rats. Nameless subhumans move through the shadows. A seedy tavern in these levels is said to have not seen the sun in 90,000 years.

Ways to get to Coruscant: Getting here is easy, in and outgoing traffic is constant, so if you want to visit Coruscant, chances are, the next ship passing your way might be heading here. On Coruscant it's easy to get around, the transportation has been moved up into the air and one way to get around is using one of the many air taxis. CL4 Xemxija
