Greetings from the ISA!
This month the ISA is gearing up for the holiday season by decking
our lamers we have frozen in carbonite on our walls, feeding some
of our surplus lamers in the brig to the rancor (it’s the
holidays for him too!) and generally cleaning house.
I’ve received a few a questions lately, so I figured I could
answer them here, they go:
1.) The Classic question of, “How do I get into the ISA?”
Well, that one is simple. The ISA Task Force Leaders go about looking
for honest, intelligent, hard working people who can be trusted
and have impeccable conduct in OTF. After we find a person like
that, we approach them and ask them if they want to be a part of
the ISA. Most say yes, but we do get an occasional no because of
prior commitments, and that is perfectly ok.
2.) What exactly does the ISA do and what does “ISA”
stand for?
ISA stands for Intelligence and Security Agency. What we basically
do is we protect you inside and outside the chat. Our Security Teams
take care of problems inside the chat room, and our Intelligence
Teams take care of the part outside the chat room like virus’
and hacking attempts on OTF. So if you have any questions about
the chat, virus’ or just in general computers, our guys know
their stuff so just ask them!
3.) Can I apply for ISA?
No. We don’t accept applications due to the fact that everyone
would probably send one in and we don’t have the time to sort
through all of them, and also to the fact that we come to you if
we want you. If you feel you are really interested in the ISA and
think you would have something to contribute to the ISA, you can
submit a brief and polite email to the respective
task force leader of the security force you want to be in describing
why you would be a good choice. Remember not to be whiny because
that is the quickest way to get ignored by the ISA and your chances
blown away faster than a lamer in the CCC.
4.) I’m a senior officer, why do ISA officers that are lower
in rank to me get the first shot on lamers over me?
Well, while it may seem odd, there is in fact a good reason. Mainly
its our job to take care of people causing trouble in the chat rooms.
Our people are specially trained to diffuse situations and do what
is necessary to get things delt with quickly. Also, most of us are
carrying more firepower than the average senior so most of the time
its just best to stay back and watch us work our magic. If a ISA
officer requests help, by all means provide it. But as a rule ISA
gets the first shot, it avoids confusion between people with L2+
armories and it lets us do our job.
I hope this has cleared some thing up for everybody. So have a
happy holiday season from the ISA!
