The Blue Report On Facebook
Article by Paulie
We have lots of good stuff to get to in this installment of The Blue Report roundup, so without further delay...
If you live
in the Houston area, and you’ve been to the Astrodome, it’s been years since
you were there. An article found at DavesGeekyIdeas.com suggests turning the
abandoned sports arena into a replica of the Federation space station Deep
Space Nine.
Speaking of Texas, were you
following Peter Mayhew on Twitter that week, by chance? He had surprises to
tweet out to his fans, such as scenes that were altered or cut out of the
original Star Wars trilogy. In related news, Star Wars Episode VIII was
confirmed to be in production in mid-February.
Do you want
to see Harrison Ford on the big screen again, but in a different franchise? One
that perhaps you weren’t aware had become “a franchise”? If you’re a fan of
1982’s “Blade Runner”, co-starring Sean Young, you need only wait until late
January 2018 for a sequel to that movie.
And have
you ever wanted to know (spoilers!) how C3PO acquired a red arm between the end
of “Return Of The Jedi” and “A New Hope”? A new comic explains it all.
The teaser
trailer for BBC America’s hit show Orphan Black season 4 hit the web on
February 18th. If you’ve been watching since the premiere on
Thursday April 14th, you know that the clones are getting close to
cracking the conspiracy.
Speaking of
BBC, are you suffering from the lack of Doctor Who on your TV? And are you mad
that Netflix removed it from their list of streaming programming? You can find
it now on Amazon Prime.
A few days
later, a sneak peek at Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” hit the web.
Kurt
Russell and Jonathan Frakes were both reported to have become Star Lord’s
father on Guardians Of The Galaxy. If you’re asking yourself how that’s
possible, look for Kurt Russell to appear live in the sequel to the hit movie, and listen for
the voice of Captain Picard’s former “Number One” in the cartoon.
Are you
ready for “Captain America: Civil War?” The second official trailer was
released on March 10th, and the movie is set to hit theaters on May
6th.
“The
Justice League” movie has its Commissioner Gordon, and it’s none other than JK
Simmons. If you’re wondering about another of Commissioner Gordon’s alter ego’s,
and how much we’ll get to see of him in the future, worry no more. Gotham’s
third season has been greenlit by Fox.
Did the 2011 Green Lantern movie leave
you cold? The next one is rumored to have three instances of the superhero. And
apparently there’s a 21 Jump Street/Men In Black crossover movie in the works.
If you’ve
been patiently waiting for more news on the upcoming Star Trek series, you need
to look no further than The Blue Report. Tony Todd reportedly was on “the short
list” to be cast in the series. Former Star Trek II and VI director Nicholas
Meyer has joined the behind the scenes effort, as has “the Great Bird Of The
Galaxy’s” son, Rod Roddenberry.
In more
Star Trek news, “Star Trek Beyond” has cast veteran actress Shohreh Aghdashloo
in an important role.
