Interview with Ayanna: The Guilds

Article by R. K. Wigal

RKW:  Thank you for agreeing to this interview.  Please, tell us a little about yourself.

Ayanna:  You’re Welcome. Well, as most know, lately I've been busy raising my new puppy. It's been an interesting experience. Other than that there isn't much to tell other than I love art, poetry and video games. Lately I've been really into playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. I’ve also been busy helping teach my nephew how to drive. That's been a very interesting experience in itself, though I’ve taught my sister's other two oldest how to drive as well. Other than that, there’s not much else to tell really.

RKW:  You are the Team Leader of the Artist Guild.  What exactly is a guild?

Ayanna:  The Guild is basically different divisions of artistic expression from Poetry to Art.

RKW:  What made you want to revive the guilds?

Ayanna:  Well, when I first joined the Outpost my first department was the Guilds. It was then run by Zilette. I was sad when it died out and had always wanted to see it revived. So when I found myself with a lot of extra free time after college I figured now was the perfect time.

RKW:  What are your plans once the Guilds are up and running?

Ayanna:  My plans are to hold different competitions. As you already know we have held some competitions such as the poetry competition and the Art Competition. Right now Guilds are in the very early stages, so anything’s possible. I'm hoping also to include a short stories section where members can submit their fan fic for people to read as well as  other types of art, such as photography.

RKW:  What kinds of things are you looking to highlight?

Ayanna:  Art Naturally.  Some may wonder what I mean.  To me Art is anything from something written such a poem or a song, to a photograph someone has taken or a painting someone created or a Graphic that someone created just for fun. Art is anything someone took the time to create and that is what I'm wanting to highlight the most: Creative Art.

RKW:  How can others get involved?

Ayanna:  Others can get involved by either joining the department and helping with the judging of contests and the running of the department or by submitting their artwork to the Guilds for display on the website that is in the process of getting built.

RKW:  When do you foresee regular projects for Guilds becoming common place?

Ayanna:  I'm hoping by the middle of next year, but really it depends on the members. A department can't survive unless people partake in the events and get involved. So if you’re creative and want to submit something, feel free, or if you want to help out with judging events and coming up with new events for the guilds then feel free to contact me at Tanya.L.Robertson@gmail.com about applying for the Guilds.

RKW:  Again, thank you for your time.  I’d say the guilds are in good hands

Ayanna:  Thank you, I would like to think so.
