Welcome back to the Blue Report! Our Facebook page was once again filled with information from the worlds of science fiction, fantasy and comics during March. And here’s the breakdown of what’s in store on the site.
The first article of note was that Harrison Ford was injured in a plane crash. We hope now that weeks later he’s well on the road to recovery. And on another sad note, Harve Bennett, writer/producer of Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan, The Search For Spock, The Voyage Home and The Final Frontier. A good eye and ear will notice him as the voice of the flight recorder in Search For Spock, and IMDb credits him as “Chief Of Staff” who Kirk called “Bob” in “The Final Frontier.
The next article came to us from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to inform fans that the comic book character Black Panther would be appearing in “Captain America: Civil War”. Another article focused on how Hugh Jackman wants to continue to portray Wolverine “til death do us part”. More power to him. Switching to the DC Universe for a moment, ComicBook.com reported that “The Big Bang Theory’s” Jim Parsons has expressed interest in portraying The Riddler in a future Batman movie.
Following that was an article about Star Trek: Voyager alum John Savage joining James Franco for a movie based on the John Steinbeck novel “In Dubious Battle”. Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Christopher MacDonald has also been cast in a new Fox television pilot called “Fantasy Life”.
The X-Files is making a limited return to Fox television. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will appear in six more on screen adventures as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Will Walter Skinner join them? Or anyone else from the original show, for that matter? Only time will tell.
And finally, Idris Elba, who has already portrayed Heimdall in “Thor” and “Thor the Dark World”, not only will be returning to the MCU in “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” according to IMDb, but he is also rumored to be in talks at Paramount to portray the villain of the upcoming Star Trek movie.
